We havean exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join theOccupational Therapy team at Princess Alexandra Hospital, based within theMedicine OT service. You will be responsible for supporting OccupationalTherapists in the assessment, planning, and implementation of occupationaltherapy interventions to meet patients needs. You will work under thedirection and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, assisting withboth clinical and administrative duties to ensure the delivery of ahigh-quality service. Your role will involve working across hospital wards and,where required, visiting patients in their own homes to support safe andeffective rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Main duties of the job
As anOccupational Therapy Assistant, you will implement agreed therapy interventionsunder supervision, building effective therapeutic relationships with patientsto support their rehabilitation goals. You will plan and prepare for clinicalactivities, assisting with standardised assessments such as personal care andkitchen tasks, and demonstrating the safe use of equipment when required. Yourrole will include supporting and undertaking home and access visits, bothjointly and independently, as appropriate. You will facilitate the safemovement of people and equipment using approved moving and handling techniquesfollowing training, maintain therapy equipment and materials, and fit, adjust,and safely use a range of tools and equipment to enable therapeutic activities.

* To contribute to accurate record keeping, maintaining confidentiality atall times and ensuring both written and electronic records are up to date.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
* Knowledge of SystmOne, Moving & Handling, BLS
* Understanding of NHS changes and their impact on OT
* Experience working in a caring environment
* NVQ Level 3 and UK driving licence (desirable)
