Base pay range
Regional SHE Manager Oxford - Leading Groundworks and Civil Engineering Contractor
* 7:30am-5pm
* Company car or Car allowance plus fuel card
* Salary bracket £50-63k depending on experience
* Annual leave - starts at 23 days, increases by 1 each year until the 5 year mark

Are you an experienced Health & Safety Manager or a Health & Safety Advisor looking for your next challenge in the Civil Engineering sector?
We have an opportunity for a Regional SHE Manager with an award-winning civil engineering & Groundworks Contractor in Oxford who specialise in residential housing projects.
Our client has been founded since 1995 and continues to expand after many years of success. They now boast 7 regional offices and a turnover approaching £250m, supported by a strong management team, many of whom joined as trainees and worked their way up.
The role - Regional SHE Manager
This civil engineering contractor is seeking a hardworking and driven SHE Manager to cover their Oxford sites and surrounding areas. You will also manage a H & S Advisor.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Promote safe working practices across the region and monitor compliance with current legislation.
* Manage the Safety Advisors within your region and undertake joint site visits, provide advice, guidance, support and development. Review documentation and give guidance where necessary.
* Use data analytics from our management system and investigation reports to identify trends, develop and manage the risk management system in the region.
* Promote health and safety awareness and responsibilities throughout the region.
* Lead on Principle Contractor jobs, providing advice and guidance on compliance with legislation and procedures. Assess needs during project lifecycle.
* Assist with regional training needs, deliver safety presentations, and develop regional staff knowledge on H & S requirements. Develop and deliver H & S training when necessary.
* Embed a consistent “safety first” approach, promoting accident prevention and safe practices.
* Undertake serious accident investigations with follow-up measures. Review reports with the SHE Manager.
* Liaise with statutory bodies, legal advisors, and insurers as needed.
* Review client procedures, ensure documentation is on the register, and communicate with teams.
* Represent the company externally at briefings, meetings, investigations, and audits.
* Monitor, audit, and promote safe practices with subcontractors.
* Update the Regional Board on legislation and best practices in groundworks H & S, liaising with the SHE Manager.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH or relevant qualification.
* Experience as a Safety Advisor or Manager in groundworks or construction.
* Experience creating safety policies, RAMS, and CPPs.
* Experience in compliance audits and advisory visits.
* Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations.
* Knowledge of plant & equipment used on site, its application and maintenance.
* Understanding of construction methods within civils and housing.
* Strong policy creation and interpretation skills.
* Ability to develop H & S Advisors with regular CPD reviews.
