Quantity Surveyor
Role Summary
Join a fast-paced Commercial team responsible for cost-effective building through quantity surveying, estimating, procurement, and material buying. The goal: to deliver high-quality homes at the best value.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage site budgets, costs, and valuations, with regular cost updates and full cost/value reconciliation
Procure and manage subcontractors, materials, and goods in line with internal policies
Lead value engineering efforts to ensure best value across all trades
Prepare and present financial reports and valuations, including site start budgets and cost flow analysis
Evaluate subcontractor tenders, process payments, and manage variations within agreed budgets
Ensure compliance with building regulations, NHBC, and sustainability codes
Collaborate with internal departments, attend site and team meetings, and contribute to design decisions
Maintain accurate records using systems like Excel and COINS
What You'll Need:
Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
Solid understanding of construction materials, regulations, and cost control procedures
Experience in a surveying or commercial role within the construction or housebuilding sector
Familiarity with subcontractor management and procurement processes
