Lochgilphead Medical Centre is a rural GP practice based within the Mid Argyll Community Hospital on the beautiful Argyll coast, 90 miles from Glasgow and 35 miles from Oban. As a team of 8 GP partners, we look after 6900 patients in Lochgilphead.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, clinically experienced, senior nurse to the position of Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). The postholder will work alongside our team of GP partners and practice nurses, and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our Urgent Care Centre providing same day care for a variety of specific clinical needs. The post holder must be a Non-Medical Prescriber.
The ideal candidate will be friendly and motivated with excellent communication skills. The role involves the management of a wide variety of illnesses, autonomous working in patient assessment and prescribing, providing advanced levels of nursing practice and clinical decision making. Experience in the management of urgent care presentations including onward referral for investigations or admission would be advantageous along with a degree of expertise in telephone triage.
All clinical staff participate in a programme of staff development and the Practice regularly hosts undergraduate medical students during their training. We are also a GP Training Practice and support all members of the MDT in continued professional development.
Salary between £47,387 and £56,365 depending on experience
Contracted Hours are 37.5hrs worked over 5 days Monday-Friday.
Contracted Term: Permanent Full Time and Part Time Available.

If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
