To identify and develop new relationships, and maintain, deepen, and broaden existing relationships with key distributors in assigned territory or channel, in partnership with a regional business development manager.
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our established, high-performing team. They will work closely with a regional Business Development Manager and will be primarily responsible for developing new and deepening existing relationships with financial advisors within a designated territory. The successful candidate will engage with clients mainly via telephone and Teams, with most face-to-face meetings arranged by their partner.
Core Responsibilities
1. Develop, maintain, and broaden relationships with independent financial advisory firms, understanding their philosophies and dynamics.
2. Support smaller to mid-sized sales relationships, working under the guidance of regional Business Development Managers, achieving sales and retention goals in line with Vanguard's Code of Ethics.
3. Assist regional BDMs in strategic sales planning to identify quality new business opportunities and leverage Vanguard's capabilities.
4. Drive results by raising awareness of Vanguard's investment capabilities and services through prospecting activities such as cold calling, targeted mailings, seminars, and industry conferences.
5. Arrange face-to-face meetings for regional BDMs on a monthly basis.
6. Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with prospects and client organizations, understanding their philosophies and dynamics.
7. Act as a trusted adviser to prospects and clients, effectively positioning Vanguard products and services.
8. Maintain knowledge of the regulatory environment to ensure compliance.
9. Collaborate with internal partners, providing insights and direction.
10. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
* CII Certificate of Financial Planning qualified (or FPC); Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS) or Investment Management Certificate (IMC) desirable.
* Minimum of five years in the financial services industry.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong presence, poise, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and travel as needed.
* Excellent relationship management skills.
* Thorough knowledge of investments and the competitive environment; familiarity with Vanguard is a plus.
* Proficient in PC and MS Office; understanding of CRM systems.
