Overview
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer — Location: Oldbury, West Midlands. Salary: £37,000 per annum. Hours: Full-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week.
About the Role
Based on our Oldbury site, you'll play a key role in keeping our production machinery running efficiently across the shop floor. This is a hands-on, full-time role supporting the manufacturing process, performing both reactive and planned maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Hours of Work
* Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm (with 30-minute lunch)
* Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm (no lunch)
What You'll Do
* Perform reactive and planned maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery.
* Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
* Support day-to-day manufacturing operations efficiently and safely.
* Record, monitor, and report all engineering and production issues.
* Sug gest improvements to prevent reoccurring faults.
* Communicate progress with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
* Complete repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime.
What We're Looking For
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer with manufacturing experience.
* Minimum City & Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering.
* Skilled in fitting, welding, fabrication, and fault-finding in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Experience with planned maintenance, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.
* Well-organised, self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.
* Proactive problem-solver who works well under pressure.
* Good timekeeping and attendance.
* Eligible to work in the UK (company cannot provide sponsorship).
