GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* To participate in the College’s Performance Management Scheme and attend necessary training to carry out the duties of the role.
* To actively participate in the College’s Quality System, including quality improvement strategies and initiatives.
* To undertake other duties as assigned, consistent with the grade and purpose of the post.
* To ensure health and safety of oneself and others affected by work.
* To support College Safeguarding, Equality, and Diversity policies.
* To conduct all HR tasks within GDPR principles.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Business Support Staff. All successful applicants will undergo checks including:
* Enhanced DBS
* Two references, one of which must be current or most recent employer.
SALARY
The salary range is from £22,074 to £22,865 pro rata per annum. The starting salary depends on qualifications and experience. Salary increases occur annually after passing probation.
HOURS OF WORK
10 hours per week, 34 weeks a year (TTO).
ANNUAL LEAVE
Payment in lieu of holiday; paid for statutory bank holidays and concessionary days within working weeks.
PENSION SCHEME
Occupational pension: Local Government Pension Scheme.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD
6 months; includes mandatory training sessions on various policies and safety topics. Completion of training is required to pass probation.
FIRST AID & FIRE MARSHALL
Required to undertake duties when called upon; must keep training up to date.
REFERENCES
Two satisfactory references are required before the end of probation.
LOCATION
Based at Bromsgrove; may work at other locations.
QUALIFICATION VALIDATION
Qualifications will be validated by contacting educational institutes; only essential qualifications are followed up.
CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENT TO OBTAIN A QUALIFICATION
Funding for additional qualifications is subject to annual review and availability; student loans are available.
MATHS AND ENGLISH
Minimum level 2 qualification in English and Maths required; must obtain if not already held.
SAFEGUARDING
All staff must undertake safeguarding training; the College adheres to 'Keeping children safe in Education'.
ONLINE CHECKS
Shortlisted candidates will undergo online checks before formal employment offers.
DISCLOSURE & BARRING CHECK
Successful applicants must complete a DBS check; costs deducted from salary.
