Job Description: Trainee Design Services Engineer

Reporting to the Principal Design Services Engineer, the Trainee Design Services Engineer will be trained to carry out the design of signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings and associated equipment. Ideally based in the Midlands, this role offers a 50/50 split between home working and onsite presence once you have your Sector 8 in place.
What you’ll do:
1. Prepare technical designs of basic signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings following approved design procedures.
2. Work with close supervision to undertake site surveys and MOVA cruise speed surveys.
3. Conduct design risk assessments and apply appropriate mitigations.
4. Follow site specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
5. Work independently with minimal supervision, with oversight mainly on new assignments.
6. Prepare technical specifications and documents for basic signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings.

Key Requirements:
* General IT skills.
* Attention to detail, motivated, and able to work independently.
* Requirement for Drug & Alcohol Testing for this role.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
