Our client is a leading logistics and distribution company dedicated to delivering excellence in warehousing and cargo management. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to join their team and contribute to their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all cargo passing through their warehouse.
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee all warehouse operatives and ensure processes and procedures are followed. Your responsibilities include loading and unloading freight, ensuring cargo is accounted for and managed within the warehouse and on the warehouse management system.
Warehouse Supervisor duties include:
1. Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of all freight.
2. Reporting shortages or damages to the relevant supervisor or department, maintaining proper documentation.
3. Checking and reporting dimensions and other cargo details.
4. Keeping freight safe and secure.
5. Adhering to booking, picking, and stock check procedures.
6. Performing quality checks on freight before departure.
7. Ensuring all freight leaving the warehouse is signed for and system updates are made.
8. Maintaining and inspecting warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
9. Reporting issues to the relevant personnel.
10. Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.
11. Charging forklifts at the end of each day.
12. Familiarity with scanning and barcode readers.
13. Following all warehouse procedures and safety policies.
This role involves alternating shifts between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday shifts on a rota basis. Core working hours are 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility required.
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £32,500.
Applicants should have at least 4 years' warehouse experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role, with valid counterbalance FLT certification (CB min 3000kg). Flexi FLT experience, groupage, and loading/unloading skills are advantageous. Attention to detail is essential.
This position requires proof of at least 5 years' employment history, DBS clearance, and successful completion of Aviation Security Training.
