As a Machining Centre Operative, you will operate the medium horizontal, multi pallet CNC milling machine tools to meet production requirements, reporting to the Shift Leader.
You will work safely, accurately and efficiently to deliver right first time quality, supporting our machine shop team and production functions.
What you'll be doing
* Operating CNC milling machines/work centres in line with safe working practices.
* Achieving required quality standards to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Editing and modifying CNC programs as required.
* Recording all work accurately on the shop floor computer system.
* Working to planned production requirements and standard hours.
* Using a wide range of measuring equipment; carrying out planned inspections and recording results.
* Selecting correct drawings and appropriate, calibrated inspection equipment.
* Collaborating with production control, engineering, maintenance and quality teams.
* Supporting the training of apprentices and trainees.
* Adhering to all Health and Safety and environmental requirements.
* Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking a Machinist with proven experience operating CNC milling machines and an in depth understanding of CNC milling processes. The successful candidate will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, carry out self inspection using a range of measuring devices, and communicate effectively within a team environment. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality, maintain accurate records of work, and collaborate effectively with production support functions. A positive, proactive approach and a genuine willingness to support the development of apprentices and trainees are essential.
