Job Purpose:
To plan, collaborate, co-ordinate, manage and oversee the design stages of new and existing projects from initial inception through to final handover. Projects will be of a high level of mechanical disciplines relating to commercial/industrial installations within the Data Centre Environment aligned to uptime institutes Tier ratings.
About the role
What you'll do:
1. Ensuring accurate collation and compilation of design documentation.
2. Ensuring client design objectives are met
3. Providing technical solutions and guidance on project deliverables to Project Managers & Site Managers when required.
4. Produce/assist in the development of accurate & comprehensive design drawing packages from initial design through to As Fitted drawings.
5. Develop best practice and cost-effective solutions to our clients
6. On “live” projects undertake with the operational team Onsite Reviews to ensure quality standards and adherence to design are being met.
7. Responsible for the development and production of LV AC & DC electrical design solutions through electronic software packages.
8. Produce detailed electrical design information in both written and drawing formats.
9. Have in depth knowledge and understanding of commercial & industrial electrical systems. Awareness of critical environments & Mission critical systems is beneficial but not essential.
10. Assist the commercial team where required to compile accurate and comprehensive cost submissions.
11. Knowledge of HV DNO processes & procedures beneficial but not essential.
12. Organising and working with professionals/contractors in the development of new designs and or changes to existing projects.
13. To take complete ownership of pre-construction activities. Such activities including conducting site surveys and the detailed
14. Compilation of schedule of requirements documentation (SOR’s) that have a direct link to the commercial team in the production of costs to our client.
15. Outsourcing design activities where required to specialists, consultants and sub-contractors.
Who you'll be:
16. Experience in CDM Projects in construction and building services
17. Experience in a management capacity in a multi skilled work environment.
18. Well versed in the use of design software packages like but not restricted too REVIT and AutoCAD
19. Electrical biased with formal qualifications to C&G or HNC/HND standards.
20. Experienced user of Trimble electrical design & lighting software packages
21. BS7671 18th Edition Wiring regulations
22. City & Guilds Design, Erection and Verification (2396)
23. Well-developed interpersonal skills
