Job Purpose
Provides support to category team and manages small-scale projects (up to c.1.5mGBP spend) under supervision
FOCUS AREAS:
Strategy: Focus on execution of strategy
Suppliers: Mostly focussed on Minor with some Major suppliers
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Day-to-day operational management of sub-categories, related suppliers, and ERP systems
2. Deliver cost reduction and sustainability projects with support from category team
3. Market research on product trends, innovation, sustainability, pricing and legislative requirements
4. Help mitigate supply risks and drive continuous improvement
SPECIFIC TASKS
5. Day-to-day issue resolution
6. Run small tenders or medium tenders with support from Category team
7. Support sourcing of leverage and non-critical supplies
8. Ongoing analysis of category areas
9. Part and supplier creation process
10. Nav price list maintenance
11. Negotiate terms with smaller suppliers and implement contracts in line with policy and processes (typically up to £1.5m annual spend) with support from line manager
12. Assess new suppliers in line with processes to provide guidance for supplier approval.
13. Conduct supplier analysis to support various projects, including acquisitions
Requirements:
14. Skills in the Google suite of applications and Microsoft Office packages
15. Studying CIPS
16. Years and type of Skills / Experience required: 2-4
17. Good basic procurement knowledge
18. Proven relationship building abilities
19. Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
20. Good verbal and written communication skills
21. Good influencing and persuasion skills
