As a Telephone Fundraiser, you will be part of an energetic and friendly team, calling Birkbeck alumni and supporters from around the world, to build and maintain a strong relationship with the University.
You will also inform our supporters about our alumni engagement activities, talk about our exciting campaign priorities, and inspire them to support us by making a philanthropic gift.
Every conversation is different, and you will be able to gain valuable career advice from graduates across the years.

We are looking to recruit Birkbeck students, and recent graduates, who maintain a strong connection to Birkbeck with the following qualities:
* Passionate about Birkbeck and have understanding for the need of fundraising in higher education sector
* Highly articulate and able to convey the College's priorities
* Friendly and tactful over the telephone with the ability to build quick rapport
* Happy to work both weekday afternoons, evenings and weekend shifts (3 hours per shift)
* Previous telephone experience eg call centre, office or reception function, or in fundraising but not essential.

Contract
This is a part-time, fixed-term role for current students or recent graduates until December 2025 working a minimum of 9 hours per week equating to 3 shifts per week (3 hour shifts on weekdays & 4 hour shifts at weekend).
Flexible shift patterns: Monday-Thursday 5:30-8:30pm & Saturday 9:30-1:30pm at the University's office in Bloomsbury, Euston, London. Closing date: Sunday 5 October, interview dates: 14 & 15 October 2025.
All successful candidates need to attend training at Birkbeck on Thursday 30 October 9:30–1:30pm and online on Friday 31 October 9:30–2:30pm.
Salary and benefits
£16.73 per hour (actual) for hours worked. (This is made up of £14.93 plus £1.80 per hour for accrued annual leave.)
The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
