Trainee Engineer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Lift Engineer to join a small but growing Lift Company.
This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to develop their engineering skills in a supportive environment to begin a career in Lift Engineering. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and will progress into an apprenticeship or a vocational qualification, depending on experience after a trial period.
This role is ideal for recent graduates / college engineers / or those with a passion for engineering or mechanics who are eager to learn and grow within the field.
The role features travelling to different sites, carrying out different scopes of works for different clients and companies. This job offers a lot of variation working on Hydraulic/ Mechanical and Electrical Components.
Duties
* Assist in modernisations on lift equipment / new installations and small repairs.
* Support the Lead Engineer in achieving the desired goals in the set timeframe.
* Learn The Basics on work with Hydraulic Systems, Electrical systems and Mechanical Systems.
* Commuting to Andrews Way Raunds at the Start of the Shift and Finish the Shift here.
* The Lead Engineer will then take responsibility of travel to and from sites
* The work carried out is across the midlands and staying away may occasionally occur but is avoided where possible.
* Contribute to problem solving, providing insights and updates on project progress.
* The working hours vary, generally the day is approximately 7:00 - 17:00 with the first and last hours of the day commuting to and from site.
* Desired on site time is approximately 8:30 - 16:00
* Pay will be dependant on experience and the qualification route going forwards such as apprenticeship etc.
* Pay awards will occur on the usefulness of the Trainee as they progress.
* Qualification takes approximately 3/4 years and the current salary range for a Lift Engineer is 40-60K
Qualifications
* An Engineering Level 3 BTEC or a related qualification is preferred, but not essential for candidates with relevant experience or skills.
* Use of Hand Tools and Power Tools is advantageous.
* Basic understanding of Electrical and Electronic Drawings is desirable.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* A keen willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges is essential.
* A Sense of Humour is Mandatory
