Are you an experienced Food Technology Technician looking for a unique opportunity and an exciting challenge?
Are you a hands-on individual with recent experience of working in a similar role?
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and methodical Technician to work with our teachers as part of a professional team to provide supported learning.
In this role you will provide technical assistance through the preparation and maintenance of Design Technology teaching areas and equipment for our pupils, covering a broad spectrum of Design Technology, including Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, Textiles and Food Technology.
As a Design Technology Technician, you will:
1. Set up resources and prepare materials and equipment for lessons and ensure food handling, rotation and health and safety regulations are followed by all staff in the use of food products.
2. Carry out safety checks on other technology equipment, including food equipment and repair damaged equipment, performing duties in line with health and safety regulations, acting where hazards are identified, including reporting any serious hazards to line manager
3. Clean and undertake maintenance of equipment as required to ensure that it is clean and in good working order and ensure equipment is safely and securely
4. Order and maintain sufficient supplies of materials and equipment to enable the delivery of lessons, including organising the online delivery of food supplies.
To be successful in this role, you will:
5. Be educated to a Minimum Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) in Design Technology or a related subject or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level. Preferable Food Handling and Hygiene certificates and preferable CLEAPPS or similar hazardous substances training.
6. Have experience of assembling, disassembling and cleaning of Technology equipment with the ability to organise and coordinate the delivery of several demands simultaneously.
7. Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety procedures, particularly those that relate to work in the Design Technology environment.
