Overview
This is a Chef de Partie role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The role involves supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for residents. The successful candidate will have a catering qualification, food hygiene certification, and at least 1 year of catering experience.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service that contributes to residents’ wellbeing.
* Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
* Support cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure they are in place.
* Work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.
* Take part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and address special dietary needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Minimum of 1 year catering experience.
* Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services to residents.
* Adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
