Are you ready to take on a key leadership role in the water sector? We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction programmes within our Water Capital Delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive performance, efficiency, and innovation across major non-infrastructure projects within our Water Quality and Compliance programme, delivering outcomes aligned with our strategic goals.
Job Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage and direct multiple programmes of work, overseeing an overall budget of £100–200m across a 5year AMP cycle. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects meet Drinking Water Inspectorate improvement notices and Ofwat Price Control Deliverable outcomes, while managing complex strategic and tactical growth and maintenance schemes.
Responsibilities Will Include
* Lead the day-to-day management of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers within the Water Capital Delivery team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery, ensuring compliance with health, safety, wellbeing and quality standards.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
* Oversee the financial forecasting, risk management, and performance reporting for major projects.
About You
* Experience: Extensive experience delivering construction programmes and capital projects, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
* Experience: Strong experience in contract development and management, particularly with the NEC suite of contracts.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, with strong delegation, communication, and problem solving skills.
* Qualifications: Degree in Science, Engineering, or Management (or equivalent experience). Chartered status or working towards it is highly desirable.
* Certifications: APM Project Professional Qualification, Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, and NEC for Project Managers.
