Overview
Avery Healthcare is a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the catering team to deliver high-quality culinary services that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of residents.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Chef de Partie in food preparation and basic cooking tasks, working in different kitchen areas (vegetables, fish, meat, sauces) and rotating through stations.
* Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
* Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions, addressing residents\' special dietary needs and cultural/religious preferences.
* Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
* Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs.

Requirements / About You
* Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
* Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Have a minimum of 1 year catering experience.
* Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services to residents.
* Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
