Priory Hospital Elm Park is looking to recruit a Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full time/37.5 Hour role.
Based in Ardleigh near Colchester, Essex, Priory Elm Park is a specialist brain injury service. We provide neurobehavioural rehabilitation for people with complex neurological needs, following an acquired brain injury (ABI) or traumatic brain injury (TBI). This includes assessment as well as treatment.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
* Therapy Interventions: Plan and deliver relevant occupational therapy interventions on an individual or group basis.
* Clinical Records: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, documenting patient rehabilitation and progress.
* Leadership: Provide effective leadership and management to junior staff within the occupational therapy team.
* Collaborative Relationships: Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with clinical and professional colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Compliance: Ensure all clinical practices comply with Priory policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
* Communication: Maintain consistent communication with patients, families, carers, and funding bodies throughout the rehabilitation process.
* Innovation: Lead the implementation of new services within the site and share best practices across other locations.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will hold a BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They should have prior experience working within an Occupational Therapy setting, ideally with exposure to specialist areas such as neuro-rehabilitation. Strong communication skills are essential to build and maintain productive, therapeutic relationships with patients, using effective coaching and counselling techniques. In addition, the role requires highly developed interpersonal skills to navigate complex or challenging situations while providing compassionate support. Working within this environment can be physically, emotionally, and sensory demanding, but with your clinical expertise and the support of our team, you will play a key role in transforming the lives of those in our care.
