About The Job

Salary: £26,409 - £28,624 a year

Hours per week: 37

Contract type: Permanent

This role requires precision, organisation, and communication skills. You will work in an office environment, managing manual and computerised systems, focusing on high-volume billing processes and ensuring records are accurate. Specialising in Local Taxation, you will apply your knowledge of regulations and billing procedures to support operations.

Flexibility is essential, as occasional work outside regular hours may be needed. The role also involves adapting to agile working practices, including working from various locations, including home, based on job demands.

About You

You have demonstrable experience in office environments and managing high-volume billing. Your expertise in Local Taxation regulations and billing procedures distinguishes you. IRRV technician qualification or working towards it is advantageous.

You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with a wide range of customers tactfully and professionally, including handling challenging conversations. You are proficient with manual and computer systems, capable of planning and organising your workload to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.

You are mathematically confident, initiative-driven, and self-directed. You also understand the principles of equality and their application in the workplace and with benefit claimants.

Application Process

Due to the nature of this role, a criminal record disclosure will be necessary. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, requiring applicants to declare all unspent cautions, convictions, and certain cautions and convictions as specified. A criminal record will not automatically disqualify applicants, but failure to disclose relevant information may lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
