The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Engineer to act as the focal point for automation activities across a portfolio of brownfield and greenfield projects. You’ll take full ownership of delivery, ensuring all technical, commercial, and scheduling requirements are met. Your duties and responsibilities will be Lead, coordinate, and execute automation projects (upgrades, migrations, and new installations). Manage multiple concurrent projects involving DCS, SIS, and PLC-based control systems. Interface regularly with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely updates. Develop project estimates, including man-hours and material costs, in collaboration with engineers. Prioritise and plan activities based on client needs and team capacity. Maintain project schedules, monitor performance, and deliver regular progress updates. Writing/checking technical documentation (e.g., specifications, I/O schedules, drawings). Conducting site surveys and supporting estimation activities. Creating templates and reusable tools for future automation projects.You will have the following qualifications & experience: Proven track record delivering automation/control projects in oil, gas, petrochemical, or similar industries. Strong knowledge of DCS systems and safety instrumented systems (SIS). Hands-on experience with a variety of PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider). Skilled in project planning tools and methodologies. Experience with technical and commercial estimating. Strong communication and client relationship skills.
