Junior/Trainee CAD/BIM Technician Within the role you will play a key technical role within the team, with the potential to deploy your talents in a number of different ways. You will produce 2D and 3D drawings and use 3D models in collaboration with other staff and external partners, including "preliminary/review", "construction" and "as built" drawings. You will also produce outputs from these models for various uses by other disciplines (e.g. containment analysis, setting out on site, stakeholder engagement). You will have the opportunity to advise staff and client representatives about the applications of BIM. Projects that you might expect to get involved in will include design and build contracts on intelligent buildings, data centres and blue-chip businesses. You will be involved in the full design lifecycle of each project. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to research and advise on BIM innovations, and assist the team in the implementation thereof, with the potential to co-ordinate and lead small teams. Role Overview To provide high quality CAD drawing output for the design aspects of a project by delivering quality drawings to internal and external clients. Producing MEP BIM models of new building construction projects, modelling and coordinating the IT infrastructure, physical security and associated services. Using Navisworks to produce visual imagery and video walk-throughs. Run Clash Detection of the MEP Services and generating reports in Navisworks. Production and review of drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Interpret design intent sketches provided by the Design Consultants. Undertake the delivery of drawing packages within tight deadlines and as part of a multidisciplinary project. Comply with Authority, Company and project-specific modelling and drawing standards Assist with BIM model co-ordination with other disciplines/contractors Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards. Candidate Specification We would welcome applications from candidates with the following; Elementery knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit and Navisworks software. Able to work on your own initiative, whilst displaying a commitment to contribute to, and learn from, the wider team. An appreciation of electrical and IT infrastructure design and construction, experience in schematics would be beneficial. Familiar with developing benchmarks and standards and then implementing them across teams Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Previous physical security/structured cabling/IT infrastructure industry experience would be advantageous.
