AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a contractor working on Substation projects in Kent, seeking both permanent and self-employed positions. Previous experience working on Substations or Battery storage Facilities is essential for this position.
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Minimum 5–10 years’ experience delivering infrastructure, utility, energy, or power projects.
* Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical infrastructure and substation delivery.
* Strong understanding of civil, electrical, and utility infrastructure works.
* Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
* Knowledge of UK construction regulations, CDM requirements, and health & safety legislation.
* Experience coordinating with DNOs, ICPs, utility providers, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
* Experience managing project programmes, risk registers, and reporting processes.
* SMSTS certification required.
* CSCS Card required.
* Membership of CIOB, ICE, IET, or equivalent professional body desirable.

Operational Actions
* Lead the delivery of electrical substation projects.
* Manage all phases of project delivery from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate civil, electrical, and utility infrastructure activities across multiple workstreams.
* Develop and manage project programmes, delivery strategies, and construction sequencing.
* Monitor project budgets, variations, procurement, and commercial performance.
* Manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Chair project progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management and clients.
* Coordinate with DNOs, ICPs, utility providers, and statutory authorities.
* Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues during project delivery.
* Oversee quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
* Ensure accurate project documentation, reporting, and handover records are maintained.
* Drive programme performance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
