Join Our SEND Team as a Behaviour Mentor – Northumberland

We’re working with a thriving specialist school in Northumberland that is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support secondary-aged pupils with additional needs, helping them to build confidence, develop positive behaviours, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
What You’ll Do:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to students, focusing on emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and families to provide consistent and effective support.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them overcome challenges and build resilience.
* Empower students to develop both academically and personally, helping them grow in confidence and independence.
About You:
* Experience working with young people in any capacity—whether in education, care, youth work, or other support roles—is highly valued.
* Ex-prison officers, ex-police officers, youth workers, or those with backgrounds in mentoring or pastoral care are encouraged to apply.
* You’ll need patience, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
