The Project
We are currently recruiting for a talented, motivated and ambitious Cost Consultant to join our expanding utilities, water, energy and nuclear commercial consultancy team.
Responsible for providing end‑to‑end cost consultancy services, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and procurement. Supports projects through pre‑ and post‑award stages, ensuring contract compliance, effective administration and value delivery across the supply chain.
Provision of a "cradle to grave" commercial function for all work packages making up the commission.
This role will require a presence in our client offices based in Cambridgeshire 2-3 days per week.
You’ll Be Responsible For
* Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
* Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
* Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
* Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
* Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
* Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
* Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You’ll Need To Have
* Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.
* Previous experience working in Infrastructure sectors (Ideally Utilities/Water sectors but not essential).
* NEC form of contract experience essential.
* Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
* Some knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred (or other commercially related discipline).
* NEC PM Accreditation (Desired).
