Job Posting Title: Skilled Grounds Assistant at Oriam
Grade and Salary: Grade 5 (£26,707 - £30,378)
FTE and working pattern: Full time role (35 hours, 1 FTE), with a rota designed for 5 days over 7 in a flexible format to meet Football & Rugby schedules and fixtures
Shift pattern work: Summer & Winter hours aligned to football & rugby seasons and fixtures
Purpose Of Role
The Skilled Grounds person will directly manage pitch number 1 for the SRU National Team & SFA Contract. They should ensure all pitch requirements are planned and documented to communicate with SRU & SFA staff and keep the Grounds Manager fully updated. This role is a priority to ensure the pitches and surrounds meet the Contract KPIs and SLAs each year for SRU & SFA.
Summary Of Key Duties And Responsibilities
* On-site presence when partner users require the pitch to meet their expectations for training sessions.
* Deliver pitch preparation daily, weekly, and monthly to the agreed KPI levels for the hybrid grass used by SRU National Team & SFA Team Players & Coaches.
* Ensure all pitch equipment is cleaned and repaired daily to maintain readiness and functionality.
* Communicate daily on the pitch surface and playability to SRU & SFA Coaches and document all KPI information for reference.
Education, Qualifications & Experience

Essential
* Educated to SCQF Level 6 (Highers) or equivalent experience
* Experience or relevant qualifications in grounds/pitch care
* Experience working and communicating in football or rugby environments
* Good numeracy and IT skills; competent with relevant IT packages
* Strong people skills and a professional, initiative-taking approach
* Ability to work quickly, flexibly, and accurately in a dynamic, changing, and pressured environment
Desirable
* Experience managing pitch irrigation & maintenance apps or pitch testing apps
* Experience analyzing pitch growth conditions and recommending remedial maintenance
* Experience with FIFA Pro Pitch testing and management recommendations
* Experience working with hybrid pitch surfaces
