About the role Pay Details: Grade 2 SPC 3 £24,796 Pro Rata £12.85 Per Hour Hours of Work/Weeks per year/Working Pattern: Term Time (Daily) - 12:00 - 1:30Pm Main Place of Work: Barry Island Primary School Description: We are excited to announce an opportunity for a temporary Mid-Day Supervisor at Barry Island Primary, a school renowned for its commitment to nurturing and caring for all its learners. As a Mid-Day Supervisor, You will play a vital role in creating a safe and enjoyable environment during lunch breaks. You will be part of a very effective and dynamic team that prioritises the needs of our learners, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Your responsibilities will include supervising children during lunch, encouraging positive interactions, and ensuring their well-being while they enjoy their meals and playtime. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting our children. About you You Will Need: At Barry Island Primary School, there are several key expectations to keep in mind that will help create a positive and engaging environment for our pupils: Team Player: Collaborate with staff to ensure a smooth lunchtime experience. Your ability to work well with others is essential Calm and Empathetic: Maintain a calm demeanour, especially in busy situations. Show empathy towards all learners, understanding their needs and emotions. Follow Positive Relational Practice: Build trusting relationships with all learners by using positive reinforcement and encouraging respectful interactions. Flexible: Adapt to changing circumstances and be ready to handle unexpected situations with a positive attitude. Set Up and Promote Interesting Play Activities: Organise and encourage engaging play activities that stimulate creativity and teamwork. Use Basic Welsh Language: Incorporate simple Welsh phrases to enhance communication and promote our cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging. Kind and Considerate: Approach every interaction with kindness, ensuring that all students feel valued and respected during their lunchtime DBS Check Required: Enhanced EWC Registration Details: It is a statutory requirement that applicants for these posts have to be registered with the Education Workforce Council before they can start work in a school.
