leading manufacturing business
on the search for a
Group Head of H&S.
This is a
PERM
role based in
the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement and maintain H&S policies and procedures in line with legal and company standards.
* Ensure robust audit and inspection programmes across all sites.
* Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks across all sites.
* Oversee thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective action and shared learning.
* Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
* Define and implement clear H&S training standards in partnership with site management and the Training Team.
* Monitor safety KPIs, analyse trends and prioritise improvement actions.
* Manage the H&S budget, ensuring risk-based investment and effective resource allocation.
What We're Looking For:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent); willingness to study for Diploma.
* Significant H&S management experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record in risk management and incident investigation.
* Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (desired).
* Membership of a professional safety body.
* FMCG manufacturing experience.
* Experience managing H&S budgets.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills.
* Analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
* Proficient in safety reporting systems.
Salary – circa £100k + car allowance and package
