The Role The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching depending on experience. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with the national curriculum and examination specifications. Teaching core areas such as product design, resistant materials, and design processes. Supporting students in developing practical workshop skills and safe working practices. Preparing students for GCSE examinations and coursework moderation. Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress. Contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement planning. Supporting enrichment opportunities such as STEM clubs, design competitions, and project showcases. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology. Confident classroom management and workshop supervision skills. Understanding of health and safety requirements within a practical environment. Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
