About the Role
A dynamic and forward-thinking individual is needed to join our leadership team as Principal Teacher – Guidance. The postholder will have delegated operational leadership and management responsibilities within Pupil Support.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote a nurturing and inclusive ethos that fosters positive relationships, engagement and achievement.
* Lead and deliver professional learning relating to inclusion, wellbeing and alternative curriculum pathways.
* Contribute to the school's improvement planning process to ensure inclusion and alternative pathways are embedded effectively.
* Support robust school self-evaluation processes.
* Lead and manage significant aspects of the primary–secondary transition programme, including the 3-day transition and development of class lists.
* Plan, develop and deliver the PSE programme from S1–S6 for two classes in each year group.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of whole-school policies.
* Work collaboratively with parents, staff and specialist agencies as appropriate.
Job Details
As a member of the school's management team, the Principal Teacher will perform tasks directed by the Head Teacher/Depute Head Teacher, taking into account the overall workload of a classroom teacher. * PVG Membership – This post is regulated work with vulnerable children/protected adults. The applicant must be a PVG Scheme member or complete a PVG update before a formal offer.

Pay Arrangements
In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT – Appendix 2.19), teachers commencing after the first day of the school session have their salary for the remainder of the school year recalculated to reflect how pay and leave accrue.
