Job Summary: The Stock & Dispatch Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control, logistics, and dispatch operations across the company’s storage and production sites — primarily Burntwood and Loughton, with occasional coordination for international facilities. This role ensures that cabling, components, and finished goods are stored, tracked, and dispatched efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with internal quality standards and customer delivery requirements. You will manage stock accuracy, coordinate deliveries with logistics providers, and ensure all shipments are properly documented and traceable. A proactive approach to supply planning, order fulfilment, and continuous improvement is essential. Experience with NetSuite ERP for managing purchase orders (POs), goods receipting, and real-time stock control is highly desirable. Job Description: Key Responsibilities Inventory & Stock Management Maintain accurate stock levels of cabling, components, and finished goods across Burntwood, Loughton, and international sites. Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure system accuracy. Monitor material consumption and forecast future stock requirements in coordination with the Production and Procurement teams. Manage goods receipting and ensure all stock transactions are recorded accurately in NetSuite. Implement and enforce proper storage, labelling, and stock rotation procedures to maintain quality and traceability. Dispatch & Logistics Coordination Plan and manage the dispatch of goods to customers, projects, or other company sites, ensuring timely and complete deliveries. Work closely with logistics and courier providers to secure cost-effective transport solutions while maintaining delivery performance. Ensure all shipments are fully documented, with recorded and evidenced delivery (proofs of delivery, photos, or system logs). Liaise with internal teams to prioritise urgent dispatches and manage customer expectations around delivery schedules. Track shipments and resolve any transport or customs-related issues swiftly, especially for international consignments. Supplier & Partner Management Liaise with logistics suppliers and carriers to negotiate rates and improve service levels. Monitor carrier performance and address any delivery discrepancies, claims, or damages. Coordinate with Procurement to align delivery timelines with supplier lead times and project needs. Systems & Reporting Use NetSuite ERP to manage: Purchase orders (creation, approval, receipting) Stock movements and adjustments Dispatch documentation and shipment tracking Generate and maintain regular reports on stock accuracy, stock value, slow-moving items, and delivery performance metrics. Support system improvements and contribute to process automation where possible. Continuous Improvement & Compliance Review and refine stock control and dispatch procedures for greater efficiency and accuracy. Ensure compliance with internal quality processes, H&S standards, and any relevant export/import regulations. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory and dispatch records. Promote a culture of accountability, cleanliness, and safety within storage and dispatch areas. Accountabilities Maintain Accurate Stock Levels Ensure all cabling, components, and finished goods across Burntwood, Loughton, and international sites are accurately recorded in NetSuite, with regular stock checks, reconciliations, and variance reports maintained within agreed tolerances. Deliver On-Time, Cost-Effective Dispatch Manage all outbound logistics to achieve on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance targets, working with approved logistics partners to provide efficient, well-documented, and cost-controlled dispatch solutions. Optimise Logistics and Inventory Processes Continuously improve stock control, storage, and dispatch processes to enhance accuracy, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain efficiency across all locations. Ensure Compliance and Traceability Guarantee that all stock movements, goods receipting, and deliveries are fully traceable, compliant with internal quality procedures, and supported by accurate, auditable records and proof of delivery. Collaborate Across Teams and Sites Work proactively with Operations, Project and Production teams to align material availability with project schedules, prevent stockouts or overstocking, and support smooth cross-site coordination. Key Skills Experience: Proven experience (3 years) in stock control or logistics coordination. Experience managing multi-site operations or dispatch from multiple locations (UK/international). Demonstrated success working with third-party logistics providers and managing cost/performance balance. Technical Skills: NetSuite ERP experience strongly preferred (inventory, purchasing, stock control modules). Proficiency with Excel and standard office software for data analysis and reporting. Process Improvement: Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with a proven track record of implementing process improvements. Ability to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Communication and Presentation Exceptional ability to present information clearly, concisely, and logically to various audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
