Maintenance Manager – Ilkeston, Derbyshire

We are now seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our Operations team at our Ilkeston facility. This is a pivotal site management role, responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance activities across Castle’s sites, ensuring equipment, infrastructure, and systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage maintenance operations across Ilkeston, Stoke, and Cardiff sites.
* Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
* Review existing maintenance schedules against the OEM requirements to assess effectiveness and implement improvements
* Oversee reactive maintenance and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.
* Manage maintenance budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations (MHSWR, LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR).
* Manage, supervise and develop maintenance teams, including performance reviews, training and personal development plans
* Collaborate with Projects and Operations teams on equipment upgrades and capital projects.
* Monitor and report on KPIs including machine uptime, maintenance task closure rates, and downtime metrics.
About You:
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced leader with:
* A strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
* 5+ years’ experience in maintenance management, including team leadership, project management and shut down management
* Knowledge of heavy machinery such as conveyors, shredders, mixers, tanks, pumps, and mobile plant.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
* A degree in a relevant engineering discipline - desirable
