We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our busy accountancy practice in Exmouth. The successful candidate will manage bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the preparation of accounts and tax returns.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
Process sales and purchase invoices
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Manage payroll processing (if required)
Assist with preparation of management accounts
Liaise with clients regarding financial queries
Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
✅ Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in bookkeeping (preferably within an accountancy practice)
Strong knowledge of VAT and UK bookkeeping regulations
Experience with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management skills
Good communication skills
AAT qualification (desirable but not essential)
