Overview
An established tier-one civil engineering contractor seeks to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a team and manage a range of projects valued at circa £20M, with successful tenders valued at over £40M per annum. The role is hybrid, with working from home encouraged two days per week, and offers an opportunity for an ambitious MQS to progress quickly in a growing workstream.
Responsibilities
* Initially reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Managing QS will manage a team of four Quantity Surveyors.
* Project work is a mixture of schemes within the energy sector.
* Work within an NEC-based framework, collaborating with Project Managers.
* Carrying out Value Engineering
* Cost Forecasting
* Sub-contract procurement
* Change Management
* Manage and develop commercial processes
* Provide consistent JV commercial reporting to the Commercial Manager, including client-based reporting requirements
* Review commercial notices together with the Client and Subcontractors as required by the form of contract
Experience and Qualifications
* Educated to BSc Quantity Surveying.
* Proven, stable career history working on civil engineering, infrastructure or utility projects in the UK.
* Well versed with NEC contracts and motivated to progress to Managing Quantity Surveyor level with a progressive Tier 1 contractor.
