Summary

We have a great opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join a dynamic team who are setting a high bar for finance business partnering across the civil service.

This will be a prominent role in HMLR working directly with a variety of stakeholders. It provides the opportunity to influence and shape policies, practises and processes across the organisation. We use a combination of world-leading financial systems (Oracle & Anaplan) which are developed by our in-house teams, providing the opportunity to directly influence how systems are designed and used.

The Finance Business Partnering Team takes a leading role in Management Accounts, Strategic Finance, Business Planning, Board Reporting and building financial capability so there is a wide variety of opportunities to continue your professional development and enhance your skills.


Job description

In this role you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding Finance Business Partnering (FBP) service to HMLR.

Each FBP will partner specific areas of HMLR incorporating both ‘business as usual’ and project/programme activities and will report into a Senior Finance Business Partner.

FBPs must enable a culture of strong financial management across the organisation, advising and constructively challenging stakeholders to enable high-quality decision making and effective long-term financial planning within financial and commercial governance requirements.

The role is responsible for delivering an outstanding Finance Business Partnering (FBP) service to HMLR.


Person specification

To be successful in this role you will be CCAB (or equivalent) qualified or nearing completion of qualification and be proficient Microsoft Excel skills. You can quickly build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, adapting communication styles to have maximum impact and establish yourself as a trusted, credible advisor. Have experience as a skilled finance professional, with strong analytical ability and commercial awareness. Able to interpret, analyse, simplify and present complex financial information to non-finance staff at all levels of the organisation. Can provide financial support and advice, effectively using data, to support and challenge teams appropriately. You can work to deadlines and prioritise effectively between multiple activities, delegating as required.

Salary

£45,514

(Croydon £49,688) This role also attracts a non-pensionable allowance in addition to the base salary (up to £8,245 for CCAB qualification or equivalent).

The sift will take place shortly after the closing date.

If successful at shortlisting stage, you will be invited to attend a virtual, blended interview and deliver a pre-prepared presentation. Details will be provided on invitation to interview. The blended interview will test the Experience and Behaviours listed in the Candidate Pack, as well as the strengths associated with the role.
