Job Title: Acute Adult Consultant Psychiatrist
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide expert psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to adults requiring acute psychiatric intervention.
* Conduct thorough assessments and create tailored treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
* Administer and oversee Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983 applications.
* Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records in compliance with clinical governance standards.
* Lead and mentor junior medical staff, fostering a collaborative clinical environment.
* Participate in continuing professional development and adhere to the standards set by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* Engage in clinical audits and research projects to enhance service delivery and psychiatric standards.
* Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss patient care and optimize treatment approaches.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and external stakeholders to ensure holistic care.
Essential Qualifications:
* Full GMC registration.
* Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* On (or about to join) the GMC specialist register for either forensic or general adult psychiatry.
* Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
* Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, with up-to-date appraisals.
* Recognized medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB) from a GMC-approved institution.
* Completion of Core Psychiatry Training (CT1-CT3) and Higher Specialist Training (ST4-ST6), leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
Desired Experience:
* Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field of adult psychiatry.
* Proven track record in working within NHS and private sector mental health services.
* Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and multidisciplinary team leadership.
* Knowledge and experience in applying mental health legislation.
