Location: Home and site based – travel to Bupa sites will be required
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours) – Flexible options available

About the Role
This is a key senior leadership position within Bupa's newly established Young Person's Mental Health service, forming part of our Mindplace face‑to‑face centres across the UK. As Mental Health Clinical Lead – CYP Mindplace, you will help shape and drive the development of our CYP mental health offering, ensuring safe, high‑quality and consistent clinical practice.
You'll work closely with the Clinical Head of Mental Health, leading clinical governance, quality, practitioner development and service improvement. This role blends strategic leadership with direct clinical practice, including one day per week of clinical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
* Provide clinical leadership and oversight to CYP mental health practitioners.
* Collaborate with the Clinical Head of Mental Health on governance, quality assurance and clinical policy development.
* Drive quality improvement initiatives, audits and clinical risk management.
* Act as a trusted clinical voice and deputy to the Clinical Head of Mental Health when needed.
* Support effective communication strategies across clinical teams.
Service Development & Workforce Support
* Support the development, delivery and growth of the national CYP service.
* Contribute to new product development and educational initiatives.
* Build CPD pathways and career development opportunities for clinicians and practitioners.
* Provide leadership support to Lead Therapists via dotted‑line management.
Clinical Delivery
* Deliver direct clinical sessions one day per week (adjusted as needed).
* Uphold safe, consistent practice including safeguarding leadership and reflective practice.
Operational & Commercial Collaboration
* Partner with commercial teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Media) to provide clinical expertise.
* Support tenders, bids, customer presentations and strategic projects.
* Work alongside operations and resource teams to support recruitment and service resourcing.
Essential Qualifications (One of the Following)
* Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Doctorate level, BPS‑accredited, HCPC registered)
* Accredited CBT Psychotherapist (PG Diploma, BABCP‑accredited)
* Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist (Level 4+ diploma, BACP‑accredited)
Applicants must have substantial experience in CYP mental health services.
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum 1 year's CAMHS/CYP experience
* Proven leadership experience in a mental health setting
* Strong background in governance, quality assurance and risk management
* Excellent communication and decision‑making skills
* Commercial understanding and cross‑functional collaboration skills
* IT proficiency and strong organisational capability
* Ability to adapt through service growth and drive change
* Solution‑focused mindset with the ability to work at pace
