Overview
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to join our growing engineering family. Our Skilled Engineers are employed on work that is appropriate to their core and specialist skills, with the expectation to acquire elements of other skills to work flexibly across trades.
Suitable training and up-skilling may be provided as required to achieve competency and perform the responsibilities described.
Working hours – core hours are 08:00 to 17:00, with some flexibility depending on circumstances.
Main Duties
* Provide a reactive and planned pro-active maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements to all operational assets.
* Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service covering electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines.
* Carry out modifications and installations as required.
* Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate technical issues.
* Ensure work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.
* Maximise availability of mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance, improved efficiencies and cost reductions.
* Maintain equipment with sound diagnostic and problem solving skills, raising issues promptly to the shift supervisor.
* Maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability.
* Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators (KPI) / service level agreements (SLA) are met.
* Take ownership of tools and equipment and ensure they are maintained to a high standard, reporting defects immediately.
* Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.
* Complete work safely and diligently, taking responsibility for own work and for those under supervision.
* Provide regular feedback on issues arising before, during and after work activities.
* Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
* Complete required training and development to maintain competence in the role.
* Complete other duties as required and directed by the Regional Operations Supervisor or Management Team.
* Flexibility in work hours to cover holidays and sickness as needed.
* Participation in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal hours.
* Assist with business continuity planning for the part of the business you work in.
* Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
* Complete documentation as required, including RAMS, and adhere to permits.
* Provide excellent customer service to building occupants and keep them informed of work order progress.
* Proactively walk the floors to report maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
Health & Safety
* Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may impact service delivery, health and safety, or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and PPE properly and in accordance with training.
* Report issues or training needs to your Line manager or via the divisional incident reporting system.
* Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
What We Are Looking For
All Engineers
* Experience of working within commercial properties and installations.
* Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within the role.
* Ability to prioritise own workload effectively.
* Flexibility and adaptability to change / Flexible approach to work and hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
* Pro-active and positive approach to work; self-motivated.
* Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
* Must hold a full UK driver’s license.
* Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer systems.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
* Presentable and professional appearance with uniform and PPE.
* Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment as per Health and Safety regulations.
* HSE management in line with our Quality Management System and statutory requirements.
* Provide excellent customer service to building occupants and communicate work progress clearly.
* Ability to complete tasks right the first time within pre-determined timescales.
Gas
* NVQ Level 3 in Heating/Ventilation/Maintenance.
* COCN1 OR CODNCO1 (domestic to commercial changeover)
* CORT1, TPCP1A, CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1
* NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning/Maintenance
* F Gas Qualification
Electrical
* NVQ Level 3 in Installation or Apprenticeship.
* 18th Edition
* 2391-52 Testing and Inspection Qualification
Plumbing
* NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
