This trainee opportunity provides an excellent career development pathway for Early Learning and Childcare professionals aspiring to progress into a managerial role. We seek candidates qualified to SCQF Level 8 in a relevant subject, meeting the SSSC Practitioner registration requirements. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to completing an SCQF Level 9 Qualification, which will be fully funded by the Council. The successful candidates will receive full support from the Council to develop the necessary skills, abilities, and knowledge to become fully competent in the role.

Brae High School, located in Brae, Shetland, is a non-denominational school offering early years, primary, and secondary education up to S6 for children from the north mainland of Shetland. The school comprises Early Years, P1-P7 (including composites), and S1-6 classes, with a total enrollment of 329 pupils. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and two Depute Head Teachers. Additional Information

* The grade of this post is J.
* This is a trainee career development opportunity, not a career grade.
* The salary includes a Distant Islands Allowance of £2,859 per annum (pro rata).
* Permanent, full-time position for 37 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year.
* Preferred candidates will be required to join or update their membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to a formal offer of employment.
* The successful candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting the role.
* No relocation package is available for this post.
* Interview expenses within Shetland will be reimbursed.
* We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
