Senior Electrical Estimator - Permanent Region: South West / South of England Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE Car Allowance The Opportunity An established and growing electrical contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Estimator to strengthen its commercial team. The business has a strong regional presence, a healthy pipeline of secured work, and a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality electrical installations across multiple sectors. Projects are predominantly regional and cover commercial, residential, industrial and specialist environments, with electrical package values typically ranging from £10k to £500k. Key duties will include: Reviewing tender enquiries and assessing technical, commercial and contractual considerations Attending site visits and surveys to support accurate pricing Liaising with suppliers and specialist subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations Producing detailed take-offs from drawings and specifications Building robust, well-structured tender prices Preparing professional tender documentation for internal approval and submission Supporting post-tender discussions and clarifications Completing clear handovers to project delivery teams Providing guidance and support to junior commercial staff Maintaining and developing estimating systems and processes About You Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator (typically 5 years) Background as a time-served electrician with strong practical installation knowledge Comfortable pricing works from small works through to mid-sized projects Experience with both traditional and design & build projects Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts Commercially aware, confident and decisive IT-literate and comfortable working with modern estimating tools Able to manage workload and deadlines effectively (Project Managers with strong electrical and commercial experience looking to move into estimating will also be considered.)
