An exciting appointment opportunity has arisen within Community Children's Nursing (CCN) Services at Northern Devon Health Care Trust for an experienced, motivated and innovative Registered Children’s Nurse with Children and Young People's (C&YP) Epilepsy Nursing experience to work within the CCN Team as a Band 6 CCN-Epilepsy Specialty- Fixed Term for 1 year covering Maternity Leave.
Setting high professional standards, the post holder will be able to demonstrate good working knowledge and skills in C&YP epilepsy nursing, excellent organisation & communication skills and an ability to work as part of the team, leading by example.
This post is offered as a part-time position Fixed term Maternity Leave cover for one year.
The CCN team is responsible for providing generic nursing care to children with short and long-term conditions within their own homes and wider community, therefore the post-holder should have a thorough understanding in safeguarding and a broad range of clinical knowledge and skills in Paediatric Nursing as well as C&YP epilepsy nursing too, who can work autonomously in role.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to educate patients, parent/carers, professionals and other agencies surrounding C&YP epilepsy care management as well as about other different health care conditions when necessary. With excellent organisational and time management skills, an ability to caseload manage your own work as well as potentially oversee the caseloads of other CCN team members may be necessary and delegation of referrals or tasks to other team members would also be necessary; therefore, a dynamic, supportive person with this team working approach is essential.
You will need to work in partnership with all levels of Health Care professionals and NHS providers of services as well as with other statutory and voluntary agencies. Although this is currently a 9-5pm Mon-Fri service, the appointed person would be expected to work flexibly around these times during the week to meet the health care needs of patients. A car owner/driver is essential.
Working Pattern: 3 days per week Ideally incorporating Thurs and Friday due to consultant clinics working along side Paediatric Consultant with Epilepsy Interest. Flexible working patterns.
