Overview
As a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse you will support patients and their families at some of the most significant moments of their lives, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based specialist palliative care. Working seven days a week as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical advice, advocacy and compassionate support to patients, families and colleagues across hospital and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of patients and families/carers with specialist palliative care needs
* Providing expert advice on symptom control, psychosocial support and ethical issues
* Developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships through skilled, compassionate communication
* Acting as an advocate for patients and families
* Supporting patients towards self‑care and educating carers
* Working collaboratively across health and social care settings
* Working flexibly to meet service demands, including unsocial hours, to support the seven‑day specialist palliative care service
