Salary: £45,000 - 85,000 per year Requirements: We require proven hands-on experience in cyber security engineering from a predominantly or purely cyber security-focused role. We require strong firewall experience, including working with next-generation firewalls. We require a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewall policies, and VPNs. We require experience configuring and working directly with security tooling in live environments. We require cloud security experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS. We require strong technical exposure to security tooling such as SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, patch management, CASB, and DLP. We prefer experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Microsoft 365 E5 security capabilities. We prefer experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) tooling. We prefer a background in infrastructure or networking before moving into security. We prefer exposure to secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices. We require permanent right to work in the UK, as we do not sponsor visas. Responsibilities: We will have you engineer, configure, and manage a large firewall estate. We will have you work extensively with next-generation firewalls. We will have you manage firewall policies, VPN configuration, and firewall lifecycle activities. We will have you implement and configure Microsoft 365 E5 security tooling. We will have you work with Microsoft Defender across endpoint, identity, and cloud security. We will have you implement DLP and Purview policies. We will have you act as the internal engineering counterpart to our managed SOC provider. We will have you support vulnerability management by consolidating findings, engaging technical teams, and driving remediation. We will have you contribute to future security initiatives, including Privileged Access Management and improvements to secure SDLC practices. We will have you support a significant programme of security improvement across the organisation. This is a hands-on technical role created to strengthen our engineering capability, reduce single-person dependency, and support a significant programme of security improvement across the organisation.
