Your new role
Short-term interim assignment, HR Advisor / ER Advisor – up to £170 per day.
This interim assignment will suit an experienced Interim HR Officer / HR Advisor who can hit the ground running in the provision of hands-on, operational HR support within an education organisation in Cheltenham on a temporary basis (initially until July 2026). This is a visible, on-site role. You will be the trusted advisor, delivering practical, day-to-day employee relations support to leaders and employees. You will support managers and staff daily, ensuring people's issues are managed effectively and proactively. Key responsibilities will include:
4. Manage employee relations casework, including absence, return to work interviews and probation reviews
5. Support short and long-term absence management, including welfare contact and fit note monitoring
6. Provide practical guidance to line managers on day-to-day people issues
7. Support low-level case management and informal capability concerns
8. Ensure policies are applied consistently and documentation is maintained
9. Act as a visible HR presence, building trust and identifying emerging issues proactively
10. Provide clear insight to leadership on staff wellbeing, morale and risk
