Team / division overview
DWS’s Real Estate business (“DWS Real Estate”) has been investing in real estate assets for more than 50 years. As part of the Alternatives platform, the business today has c.400 employees located in 25 locations around the world and €69.1 billion in assets under management as of 30 June 2021. It offers a diverse range of strategies and solutions across the risk/return and geographic spectrums, including core and value-added real estate, real estate securities, real estate debt and opportunistic real estate. The real estate investment business employs a disciplined investment approach and aims to deliver superior long-term risk adjusted returns, preservation of capital and diversification to its investors, which include governments, corporations, insurance companies, endowments, and retirement plans worldwide.
Your responsibilities:
As our Fund CFO Specialist, you will:
* Support all operational aspects of the Illiquid Asset Operations team and work closely with Senior Fund CFO Specialists, the RE CFO, the Head of Luxembourg, and Portfolio Managers.
* Perform detailed reviews of quarterly reporting packages.
* Manage the annual audit process.
* Review tax returns and filings for all investment jurisdictions.
* Oversee governance requirements for Fund, Holdco, and SPV entities.
* Prepare quarterly board packs.
* Liaise with transaction and portfolio management teams to onboard new investments, including fund flows, entity setup, and internal financing.
* Manage cash flow and forecasting.
* Calculate capital calls and distributions.
* Ensure smooth operation of all payment processes according to Payment Gold Standards.
* Prepare management fee calculations.
* Work with the Head of Treasury, RE CFO, and Portfolio Manager to execute and maintain hedging facilities correctly.
* Assist in UK, US, and global regulatory reporting, including FATCA and CRS reporting.
* Address stakeholder queries promptly and efficiently.
We are looking for:
* Solid Pan-European real estate and/or Luxembourg fund finance and operations experience with exposure to multi-jurisdictional funds and SPVs.
* In-depth knowledge of consolidation and NAV calculation for real estate funds.
* Knowledge of real estate reporting topics (e.g., tenant incentives, latent capital gains, development financing).
* Understanding of applicable regulation and reporting (AIFMD – Annexe IV, Solvency II, etc.).
* Experience preparing materials for Valuation Committees and structure boards.
* Knowledge of fund structuring and concepts.
* INREV experience preferred.
* Degree level education.
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred).
* Ability to learn and solve problems independently.
* Strong proactive attitude, responsibility, and desire to develop.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
