Offer description

A well-established Glasgow-based Software Organisation that specialises in creating modern Microsoft web applications are looking to add a couple of .Net Software Developers to join their highly experienced team. This is a rare opportunity to join a close-knit, long-standing development squad at a company with a strong track record of staff retention and great work-life balance - including a 4-day work week!

The business has been running successfully for over a decade and has built a strong reputation in their niche. Most of the employees at the business are tech focused, and impressively, they haven’t had to hire for several years – a testament to their stable environment and strong team culture.

These positions are very much growth-focused hires. The goal is to bring in fresh talent to grow into the business, with the opportunity to absorb deep domain knowledge and take on increasing responsibility over time.

The team primarily works with the Microsoft stack, and they’re in the process of modernising their platform – moving from the .Net Framework over to .Net Core. They also use SQL for data storage and have a TypeScript-based front-end. They're ideally looking for someone who is comfortable working across the stack or keen to grow into that space, with good problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

You’ll ideally have experience with most of the following:

** .Net / C# (ideally some exposure to .Net Core)

** SQL Server (or similar relational databases)

** Front-end Development (HTML, CSS and JavaScript / TypeScript)

Experience with the following is a nice bonus:

** Experience in a small business or product-focused environment

** Working with Content Management Systems (Umbraco, Sitecore etc)

** Engaging with clients / stakeholders

Equally as important as your technical ability, is your communication skills – in this role, you’ll be expected to engage directly with customers for requirements gathering and helping to resolve complex support queries. Ideally, you’ll have some experience with this already, or at least open to picking this up.

The company is based on the east side of Glasgow, with parking available onsite – you’ll ideally live fairly local and will have access to your own car. They offer very flexible working arrangements, where there is flexible hours and you’ll only be expected onsite about once a week (however it would be great if you could pop in a little more at first to help get up speed with their tools and systems).

In return, they’re offering a salary of £30k to £45k, depending on experience and ability, alongside a really supportive working environment, and really great benefits package which includes 4-day work week, 8% pension and strong annual bonus.
