We are looking for an experienced Landscape Lead to join our Grosvenor Forestry and Conservation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a team responsible for the maintenance of landscape across a truly beautiful rural estate.

Grosvenor Rural Estates is responsible for thelong-term stewardshipof threerural estates in the United Kingdom. This role will be based at our Eaton Estate, just outside Chester city centre.

The role
Reporting to the Head of Forestry the main purpose of the role is to lead the landscape team and organise, supervise and implement daily landscape tasks primarily focused on Eaton Park but also in the estate villages and properties. Tasks include mowing and strimming during spring, summer and early autumn, alongside general landscape tasks such as clearing leaves, maintaining tree guards and keeping the park and villages tidy. During winter, the landscape team will help with forestry planting. If time allows, the team will help with interrow mowing of young forestry plantations. Support to be given to the Deer Keeper for routine deer park tasks.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and organise the work of the Eaton landscape team and contractors
* To take an active role in the landscape team
* · Interrow mowing of plantations and tree planting
* Fence inspections and deer feeding
* Record keeping of key jobs
* Contribute to annual budgeting
* Ensure H&S responsibilities are fulfilled
Essential skills and attributes
* Sound understanding of landscape tasks
* Experience of undertaking landscape operations
* Leadership capability
* Problem solving skills and ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to look critically and constructively at the work of the team and at the estate environment to understand what quality looks like
* The ability to organise your own work and keep accurate records
