We're recruiting an experienced and proactive Housing Officer to deliver effective tenancy and income management services. This role plays a vital part in supporting residents, ensuring rent is collected, and taking appropriate action where arrears or tenancy breaches arise, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and community wellbeing. The Role ·Manage a patch of tenancies, acting as the first point of contact for residents on tenancy and rent-related matters. ·Monitor rent accounts, identify arrears early, and work with residents to agree realistic and sustainable repayment plans. ·Take appropriate enforcement action where necessary, including preparing cases for possession proceedings and attending court hearings. ·Investigate tenancy breaches such as unauthorised occupation or anti-social behaviour, taking proportionate action in line with policy and legislation. ·Support residents to sustain their tenancies by signposting to welfare, benefits, or debt advice services where appropriate. ·Carry out tenancy visits, property inspections, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. ·Maintain accurate case records, reports, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with policies and statutory requirements. ·Work collaboratively with colleagues across housing, repairs, and support services, as well as external partners.
