Job summary
Hospitality Assistant role at Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking general Facilities Domestic & Catering duties, including working in the cafe, waste removal, communicating with ward and hotel services staff, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors. The role may involve preparing, cooking and serving patient meals.
Hours: 14 hours per week.
Shift pattern: Wednesday 07.30-15.00 and Friday 07.00-14.30 (30 minute unpaid break each day). Hours may be subject to change.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a high-quality hospitality service to wards, departments, clinics and health centres in a way that is conducive to patient care, ensuring legislative and operational policies are adhered to.
* Undertake all cleaning tasks by following the cleaning specifications and using the appropriate equipment and materials.
* Prepare, assemble and cook food items for patient meal services.
* Work closely with other staff to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Carry out all aspects of floor maintenance (e.g., mopping) and display wet floor warning cones when necessary; remove once floor areas are dry.
* Regular removal of waste with correct bag use and labelling; dispose of bags in designated waste bins. Secure clinical waste bags with correct tape and colour coding.
* Use chemicals/cleaning agents in a safe and economical manner, in accordance with manufacturer instructions. Only use chemicals supplied by the Trust.
* Use machinery safely and as trained; ensure equipment is maintained and stored cleanly, tidily and safely.
