About our School
North Lakes Children’s Services is a well-established local provider of residential care and education for boys aged -. We improve the resilience, self-esteem and abilities of all the young people we work with.
Our school is now an Accredited SILVER Award Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School, and we gained our first Outstanding Ofsted inspection in.
As a Teacher you will be enhancing the learning of pupils who have a wide range of special educational and learning needs. You will also be supporting the teaching staff in enabling the pupils to gain independence, participate fully in the curriculum and the general life of the school. This role will be based at Herdley Bank School.
Role responsibilities
1. Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
2. Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
3. Reporting on pupils’ progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
4. Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
5. Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
Requirements
6. Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
7. Have a strong basic education to degree level
8. Previous successful teaching experience
9. Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
10. Experience of behaviour management and techniques
11. Committed to professional development and willing to learn
12. Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
